Written by Emma is the first child of Emma Wilson, Manx born and bred calligrapher and artist. Graduating from Isle of Man College with a full set of distinctions in art and design, Emma settled into office life and stifled her creativity for years. After a chance encounter with an old teacher, Emma had the confidence to set up her business ‘Oh My Pen and Press’ in 2016. Searching for beautiful wedding stationery over here was an impossible task – it simply didn’t exist here, and she needed some! She bought a letterpress, learnt calligraphy, and the rest is history.

Emma takes a select number of weddings per year, to balance life with her three children. Her style is very much luxury and understated, contemporary and elegant – letting printing techniques highlight sleek design details.
Having been in the industry for over a decade, Emma knows how to pick up on the important details close to your hearts and weave them into your stationery.
So what’s the deal with stationery? It sets the scene. If you’re going extra with the wedding day, don’t have the details let you down. It is the first thing guests get to see - an insight into your day. Letterpress or hot foiled cotton paper, calligraphy envelopes, venue illustrations, wax seals, die cutting - the list of techniques and mediums used goes on. Emma has even individually watercolour painted a set of 70 invitations so each would be entirely unique.
The most important thing to Emma is that you love what she has created and see the value in it. She lovingly takes notes, designs and puts together every aspect of your stationery. Whether it’s the invitation suite, order of service, signage on the day or beautiful favours. It all comes together and works with you, the couple, at its centre.
